Entertainment Weekly posted the new this morning that Greg would be making a return to Days of Our Lives. He will be set to air Jan 17th, 2017.

Greg Vaughan, Salem missed you.

EW has learned exclusively that Vaughan will reprise his role as Eric Brady on Days of Our Lives. Vaughan, who first joined DOOL in 2012, left the NBC sudser earlier this year to pursue other gigs. He not only appeared on the Fox drama Lucifer but joined the cast of Queen Sugar on OWN as Calvin, a married cop who’s having an affair with Nova Bordelon (True Blood star Rutina Wesley).

Vaughan’s return is set for Jan 17, 2017.

“After coming toward the completion of Queen Sugar, I had the opportunity to speak with the executives and head writers at Days of our Lives,” said Vaughan in a statement. “I’ve always been proud of my time and the work I contributed to Days, and I was excited at the opportunity to reunite with the cast and crew. I feel my job as an actor is about more than just stepping on stage and taking a role. I’m trying to create a presence that resonates for myself and the core of Eric Brady. I feel Eric’s journey will have a huge and impactful return!”

Before his time on DOOL, Vaughan played Lucky Spencer on General Hospital and Diego Gutierrez on The Young and the Restless.

Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC.

The official word has finally come down from NBC, Salem lovers: Actor Greg Vaughan, best known to General Hospital fans as (the third) Lucky Spencer, has joined Days of our Lives.

Starting Nov. 13, Vaughan will assume the role of Eric Brady, the estranged brother of Sami (Alison Sweeney) and the son of Roman Brady and Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). This is the first time Sami’s brother has appeared in Salem after leaving for Colorado in 2000.

Eric was last played by Jensen Ackles from 1997-2000.

“I seem to be that go-to guy [for roles originated by others],” Vaughan told EW exclusively. “But it’s more than that. The roles speak to me. It’s such a great ensemble.”

Before making various appearances in primetime on shows like 90210 and GCB, Vaughan co-starred on General Hospital as Lucky from 2003 to 2009. He also played Diego from 2002-03 on CBS’ The Young and the Restless. “Now I have the privilege of saying I’ve appeared on soaps on every network,” Vaughn said. “It’s such a great medium — fast paced, and it’s trained me well.”

Vaughan started work on Days this week. When he makes his debut on the daytime sudser in November, it will be revealed that his character has been doing philanthropy work around the world.

“He’s been a world photojournalist,” explains Vaughan. “He’s just a guy who has a found a new direction in life. He has kind of re-gravitated in a different direction, more so than what the audience expects. The question will most likely be why he has chosen this new direction in life.”

Greg officially confirmed that he is in fact heading to Days of Our Lives. Per his tweets:

To ALL my beloved friends’ that have stood beside me! I’ve traveled a path I love & feel fortunate to join & become apart of the cast. With both creative & personal reasons, as to the direction ‪#DOOL‬ plans to allow me to preform on such a great canvas, I hope you can be just as excited & patient about the reveal of this character as I am! GBYA 😉

So far there is no word on when he is to start filming or when his first date is, though SID posted last week “Vaughan will begin taping in August”, also no word on who his character will be. Rumors the past couple of weeks have said that Greg will be playing Eric Brady, Sami Brady’s twin brother, who was last played by Jensen Ackles, while SID posted last week that “he’ll be entering the canvas as a holy man.” Once anything more is released about Greg’s role and details of his move to Days, we will be sure to post it and let you know.

So Greg tweeted last night that he will be starring in a new Hallmark movie and he’s starring opposite Alison Sweeney, who plays Sami Brady on Days of Our Lives as well as the host of The Biggest Loser.

@greg_vaughan Finally signed, sealed & delivered! Starring in a new Hallmark Movie starting Wednesday opposite my girl @Ali_Sweeney!! Gonna be great fun!

No other information has been released yet, but once we know more we will be sure to let you know. Edit: Movie Info thanks to soapsindepth:

Now, Soaps In Depth has uncovered some details about the film. Vaughan will star as firefighter Jeff Sinclair, while Sweeney plays single mom Jenny McLean, a 911 operator. While their voices are familiar to each other, Jeff has never met Dispatcher No. 23 — that is, until he suffers a fractured leg and smoke inhalation on the job and Jenny comes to visit him in the hospital! When Jenny, suffering financially from a cutback in her hours, needs to rent out her spare bedroom for extra cash, and an injured Jeff realizes he can’t handle the stairs in his condo and needs a more level place to convalesce, Jenny agrees to let Jeff move in with her and her two young children, Elsie and Luke. Despite their mutual attraction, Jeff and Jenny are both wary about making a commitment to each other… but not if Elsie and Luke have anything to say about it!

Bit more about the new Mini-series

All My Children’s Natalie Hall has made plans for the holidays.

The actress, who has played Colby Chandler on the long-running ABC soap opera, has booked the lead in the Hallmark miniseries Love’s Christmas Journey.

In the two-hour, two-part miniseries, slated to air in November, Hall will play Ellie King, a young pioneer woman who has suffered the loss of her husband and daughter.

In the mini, part of the Love Comes Softly series based on the books by Janette Oke, Ellie (Hall) will visit her brother Aaron (General Hospital’s Greg Vaughan), a sheriff in the small town of Haddonton, and his two children during the Christmas holiday. When a corrupt attorney in town leaves an innocent young man to blame for Mayor William Wayne’s (Sean Astin) barn catching fire and burning, Ellie steps in to help.

Dylan Bruce (As the World Turns), JoBeth Williams (Private Practice), Ryan Wynott (The Cape), Jada Mae Facer and Bobby Campo (CSI: Miami) co-star.

Dave Cass Sr., who helmed Hallmark’s 2002 miniseries Johnson County War, will direct.

Hall, repped by The Group Entertainment and Paradigm, will next be seen in an arc on ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars, where she’ll play Kate, the stepsister to Ashley Benson’s Hanna.

After being canceled in April, All My Children will air its final episode on Friday, Sept. 23 at 1 p.m., with lifestyle series The Chew taking over the time slot on Monday, Sept. 26.
